HOW DO WE SUPPORT PHYSICAL & MENTAL HEALTH?

St Margarets Nursery & Pre-school are proud to support our staff teams mental, physical and emotional well-being. We strive to ensure our staff are celebrated and their hard work is acknowledged. Below are some examples of what we do to try and help.

All staff have 5 prepaid counselling sessions ready for them to use, if they ever feel they need to talk to a professional in confidence.

All staff have access to an online well-being portal by Health Assured with help, advice, contact details if they ever need it. They also have access to 4 week programmes that support various subjects such as sleep, change and loss, healthy living, covid-19 and many more.

The company has paid for a personal trainer to attend the setting twice per week for any staff who would like to keep themselves active before or after their shifts.

We have a mentoring system in place for all staff. Our team have chosen their own mentors to support them to grow both professionally and personally. Attachment theories are not only for children, you may feel more comfortable talking with someone other than your senior and that should be encouraged and supported.

Each month management acknowledge and reward individual staff with vouchers they can spend on themselves. We also reward teamwork. Each month we share good practice with each other and explain why they have been nominated. The playroom which shows great teamwork gets to have a little treat of afternoon tea at Ivy on the Square.

The company has created a Social Programme. We will organise and pay for team building days/nights out every quarter for everyone. The staff have already picked Fox Lake, Super Cube Karaoke, Laser Tag & Paint-balling. We can’t wait!

We are lucky enough to have two amazing dogs within the nursery. Milli and Blue both spend their days in the office. If any staff need a minute to themselves to grab a coffee (or their favourite a Coke Zero), they can come relax and get some love from them both!

We celebrate our team’s work and life milestones. We acknowledge that we spend a lot of time at work, so this should be reflected in life celebrations! Over the years we have seen many of our team achieve their degrees, get engaged, get married, have babies and celebrate milestone birthdays.
