Extra Curricular Activities

By putting children at the heart of the community we commit to providing the highest quality of education, creating a safe and inspiring learning environment where children can learn and develop their skills by making free choices and having the opportunity to be independent on their discovery journey.

Sports Classes

Weekly sports coaching sessions take place every Wednesday morning to support and develop all the Pre-school children's abilities, fitness, social skills, teamwork and confidence. The coach leading the sessions, John Robertson, has a Sports Science Degree from Napier University, HND, HNC in Sports, Health Wellbeing & Social Sciences. John has also completed his (Union of European Football Associations) UEFA C and B Licence with the Scottish Football Association.

Sensory Room

Sensory play supports children in developing their senses and encourages problem-solving through lights, textures, heuristic toys, and sounds. Sensory rooms can also support children to learn to self-regulate their behaviours which can support them in improving their focus. Spending time in the sensory room can provide our children with a sense of calm and comfort whenever they need it

Intergenerational Project with St Margarets Care Home

Our Pre-school children take part in an intergenerational project with St Margarets Care Home. The children go over to St Margaret's Care Home to do various activities and spend time with the elderly residents every Monday afternoon at 2:30pm.

Learning Room

Our learning room is a space for the children whenever they need to work in small groups. The children have the opportunity to do focused learning experiences which support the children on life events such as the arrival of a new baby into the family, moving home, transitioning into Primary 1 etc.

Mini French Lessons

The more we stimulate our children’s brains with activities like singing, problem solving and interaction the more neural pathways they will build & improve their creativity. Not many kids classes enable you to learn as well! For far too long language tuition has been uninspiring. We have changed that! Welcoming, light-hearted and child-centred you will see your child smile and laugh and learn!

Cooking Classes

Our Chef Sinead Bradshaw is also a qualified Early Years Practitioner. The children have been learning about healthy eating and cooking in a fun way which incorporates the Curriculum for Excellence. Children bake loaves of delicious sourdough bread which they share with all their class.
